What Is CBD Really?
What is CBD really and how does it influence the body?
Everyone is talking about Cannabidiol and how it can treat so many different things. But, do you know what CBD really is?
Make sure you are not only getting your products from a legitimate source, but also getting your information from someone who you can trust.
We utilize Cannabidiol with our patients on a daily basis and coach them on the proper use and how to naturally boost their own Endocannabinoid System (ECS).
You can read the entire article where I talk about how CBD works in our body. CBD helps your own body’s natural endocannabinoids work longer. It also binds to various receptors, such as opioid and serotonin receptors.
CBD is one of the over 700 active molecules in the Cannabis plant. Don’t forget, hemp is a member of the Cannabis family too. CBD and THC are produced in the largest percentages by the plant and thus they are most studied and known.
We have an entire system in our body called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) and it was only discovered in the 1990s! Compare that to our other body systems which we have known about for 100s of years. Medical providers are not taught about the ECS or CBD in medical schools, and often times our patients know much more about CBD and Cannabis than we do. Hopefully, as Cannabis and hemp becomes more mainstream and legalized in more states, the culture surrounding Cannabis starts to shift.
Cannabis and CBD are medicine for many patients and as a medical community we need to meet our patients where they need the most help. One day the ECS and medical marijuana will be taught in medical schools and our patients will be able to get the care they deserve.
