How long does CBD take to work?
The amount you take, the form you take it in, and where you got your CBD from can all impact how long it takes for CBD to work in your body.
The method of consumption matters
The method of consumption plays a critical role in how long it will take to feel the effects of CBD. CBD is available in many different forms, and each influences the start time, among other factors.
Topical
You should feel the effects within 20 to 30 minutes; any CBD effects you feel will peak after about 90 minutes. This method of administration is often used for localized problems.
Ingestion
Ingesting CBD via a tincture or a CBD edible will result in a more lengthy onset (up to eight hours).
Sublingual
Expect to feel the effects within 30 minutes. Any impact you feel should last up to four hours. Remember to hold the oil under your tongue for as long as possible.
Inhalation
Smoking hemp CBD flowers or vaping CBD is one of the fastest ways to experience the effects of CBD. Any results you feel will set in almost immediately and last roughly up to 3 hours.
Transdermal Patches
Using a transdermal CBD patch is an efficient, effective way to enjoy the effects, which set in within an hour and last for several hours, depending on the patch's formulation.
Suppositories
Suppositories are particularly useful for menstrual relief. Designed to be inserted into the vagina, anus, or urethra suppositories bypass your gastrointestinal (GI) tract.
Absorption rates are around 8 – 50% while duration can last between 2 to 8 hours and set in within 15 to 20 min.
Remember CBD isn’t a one size fit all. Our bodies are diverse. Consistency is key. Take your CBD every day.
