Does CBD Oil show up on a drug test?

CBD, Cannabidiol, itself will not cause you to fail a drug test. This is because CBD is different from THC. CBD Isolate based oils shouldn’t show up on a drug test. Standard drug tests are designed to look for THC.

The most effective way to determine whether CBD may cause you to fail a drug test is to know what type of CBD product will affect a drug test.

Full Spectrum CBD

Full-spectrum CBD products include all compounds from the plant and contain less than 0.3% THC. Due to this small trace of THC, it could risk the possibility of receiving a positive result.

Broad Spectrum CBD

Broad-spectrum CBD products extract all THC, leaving all other compounds. This means there is no chance of THC showing up in your result. We recommend choosing broad-spectrum if you are worried about failing a drug test.

CBD Isolate

CBD oil made from CBD isolate removes all compounds except CBD. While CBD isolate may not show up in a drug test, it will not give you the full benefits from the plant such as full spectrum or broad spectrum CBD oil.

Knowing what is in each type of CBD is important to decide which product works best for you and your lifestyle.

When buying a CBD product (whether you are concerned about a drug test or not), it is always recommended to get a certificate of analysis or COA. A COA is a lab test performed by the manufacturer that verifies the product complies with the legal limits of THC.

Our certificate of analysis or lab report is available in our website navigation.

Remember it’s important to talk to your employee if you are taking CBD oil.
